Practice Policy
Refill Policy
KM Psychiatry will do our best to refill your medications in a timely manner, please allow up to 48 hours for all refill requests. Any refills requests on weekends and holidays may take longer. Due to drug shortages and Insurance Prior Authorizations (PA) this could add additional time and delay your medication refill time. Please plan your refills accordingly.
Controlled Substances
Some medications are closely regulated by the DEA. These medications can be very beneficial when utilized. All medications require monthly monitoring as part of your comprehensive treatment plan. Controlled substances cannot be refilled without an appointment every 30/days. Please plan accordingly.
KM Psychiatry Associates utilizes I-STOP/PMP, a NYS Prescription Monitoring Program. The I-STOP/PMP program is designed to limit the abuse and diversion of certain medications.
No Show/Cancelled Appointment Policy
KM Psychiatry will work actively with patients and families to reduce the number of no show or frequent cancellation of appointments. As a Patient Centered Mental Health Practice, we aim to provide the best quality of care. To ensure that our patients do not miss their appointments, KM Psychiatry utilizes an automated appointment reminder system that sends out alerts through phone calls, emails, and/or text messaging. Please make sure that all your contact information is updated each time you check in for an appointment. Please notify KM Psychiatry of any cancellations at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. This will allow our office enough time to fill the appointment slot with another patient in need. KM Psychiatry understands that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may cause our patients to miss an appointment. Any missed appointment may result in a no-show fee of $50.00 for established patients and $100.00 for new patient appointments. New patients that no show will not be able to rebook a new appointment.
